Why choose me to be your celebrant…
I have a lot of life experience which makes me a very understanding celebrant. Life is precious and I like to find the amazing in every day. I am optimistic, love to laugh and am endlessly curious. I bring this huge positivity to my ceremonies.
I have been married for 36 years, and together Peter and I have lived in America, France and the UK. It’s been an adventure - we’ve had varied careers, created businesses, been made redundant, and bounced back. We have three lovely children, two girls and a boy, all now in their twenties. We’ve lived with heartache and lost close family members.
We raised our children in France and have lived there for nearly twenty years, so my real speciality and passion are France and French weddings and celebrations. I also work in Italy, especially on Lake Como and in Tuscany, but I’m happy to travel anywhere for your wedding if you would like me to be your celebrant.
I can speak French and so I can conduct ceremonies in English or a combination of English and French. Most of my weddings are for English-speaking couples but I often have couples where one is English-speaking and the other is a native French speaker.
Previous careers include being a tour operator accompanying groups from the USA to Europe and Egypt, and being a milliner, creating spectacular hats for the races and weddings, and running hat-making courses. I’ve always loved working with people, creating magical moments for them.
I was an International Wedding Planner for over 12 years and specialised in luxury weddings in the South of France. During these years I have organised many wonderful wedding ceremonies and this led me to become a celebrant for weddings, and other special occasions.
I love to get to know you, to understand your family sensitivities, and to bring beauty and depth to this moment in the festivities.
I have done numerous celebrancy training courses with the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants, and the Academy of Modern Celebrancy. I strongly believe in always learning and growing as an individual.
I know and love many special venues and locations in Provence and the Riviera, and have lots of friends and connections in the wedding industry there. I now divide most of my time between the South of France and Wiltshire in England, but I’m always happy to travel further afield for a wedding.
When I am not busy being a celebrant, I love to ski, go wild swimming or paddleboarding in the sea, a river or lake, go for long dog walks and hikes, explore new places, rummage in charity shops, make do and mend. I enjoy my garden and like to hang out in my greenhouse.
I love learning your life stories and I am empathetic, kind and always listening.
My people skills include being a great listener, remaining calm under pressure, being able to quickly adjust if a situation arises, and being an elegant and reassuring presence.
